A new year brings a new management structure to Allion Legal

2 February 2016

On 1 January National boutique law firm Allion Legal changed its management structure and appointed two new Principals in Charge of its separate offices.

Michael Swift steps in as Principal in Charge of the Perth office and Jon Cane as Principal in Charge of the Sydney office. Michael and Jon have resumed the duties previously held by Phil Lucas as Managing Principal, a position he held since the Firm’s inception in 2009.

Michael has been a Principal with Allion for five years and heads up the Firm’s well respected Property practice.

Jon is a founding Principal of Allion’s Sydney office and a senior member of its corporate team.

"The growth of Allion over the past 7 years has been significant and with our Sydney office having been established now for more than 2 years, the requirements of the role for one Principal had become too onerous," said Michael Swift.

"The Firm is maintaining the same Board structure as before, with Phil continuing as Chairman," said Mr Jon Cane.

"We see significant advantages in having separate Principals managing the two offices, namely we can focus more exclusively on developing our local client base, staff and office needs.

"Most importantly, this frees Phil from the heavy workload required by one person and allows him to focus and spend more time on continuing to grow his burgeoning corporate practice," said Mr Cane.

"Phil's vision, strategic leadership and limitless energy has made Allion the firm it is today, however, he was the first to suggest it was time for a fresh approach," said Mr Swift.
